Summertime

"Summertime, And the livin' is easy, Fish are jumpin'..."

Summer is here!!!!  Well, almost.  It feels like it is for me...

LOOKING BACK

The Venice Symphony season concluded this weekend, it was a fun and fulfilling year, to say the least!  We now have Ken Bowermeister as our conductor, I've known and respected Ken for many years and feel extremely fortunate to play under his direction again.  I also enjoyed playing with the Charlotte Symphony several times through their season and hope to be asked to play in their Independence Day concert. Playing in the pit with the North Port High School’s production of “Once Upon a Mattress” was another highlight of my season. Numerous weddings, special events, holiday and cocktail parties took up a good chunk of my time -- I played for a holiday party at a glamorous home on St. Pete Beach, several weddings at Spanish Point in Osprey (I love Mary’s Chapel), several more at Selby Gardens, Ca d Zan, Crosley Mansion, Trinity Presbyterian Church in Venice (concert), Historic Crocker Church in Sarasota, Jacaranda Trace (concert), University Country Club, Michael’s on East (private party), Lakeside Lutheran (I played for their Easter Services), Unitarian Universalist in Sarasota (service), Clermark Ranch (event), Englewood United Methodist Church, Hyatt in Sarasota. I also played for a couple of events at the south campus of State College of Florida with a group we named Ying Yang Strings.
:-)

Another highlight of the season was the student recital at my studio in March. I was so happy with how everything went that I wanted to do it again the next week. But… I refrained and am hoping to set the next one up for a Friday evening in June.

LOOKING FORWARD
